# QLD Coal Medicals

All Queensland coal mine workers are required under legislation to complete a health assessment. The Queensland Government, via the independent regulator Resources Safety and Health RSHQ, have designed the online portal (ResHealth) to undertake these health assessments. It is now mandatory that this portal is used.

A coal worker changing employer must undergo a health assessment (CMWHS) relevant to their new employer. This new assessment will need to be initiated through ResHealth by the new employer and the worker will be required to log on to ResHealth and complete their section. Once completed an email will go through to their AMA (Appointed Medical Advisor) to notify the AMA that the assessment is ready for review. If new information is required before the assessment can be completed (e.g. new ILO CXR) then the AMA will advise.

For us at Enable:

1. Reshealth Enable Advisory account has been created.
2. All employees who will be working on QLD coal mines will need to complete a CBM under the Enable Advisory account. Ensure that all personnel completing a medical for the first time with Enable Advisory have “Health Assessment” selected, not “Subsequent Assessment”, regardless of already being in the ResHealth System.
3. The ‘super user’ and can create health assessments, or change other user permissions.
4. Sonic HealthPlus is the current service provider and employs the AMA - see AMA confirmation letter. The company head office is in Mackay, but there are multiple clinics in Brisbane and around Australia. I believe the system is set up to allow external qualified persons (Examining Medical Officer – EMO) to complete the in-person assessment or tests/scans and then send to the AMAs.

RSHQ has created some support guides to assist making bookings and creating health assessments for workers
