# Ventsim
## Ventsim
VentSim™ DESIGN operates under a virtual license scheme, which limits full use to one computer at a time. Under the license agreement, the Virtual License can be freely moved from computer to computer at the licensed site. If the software is not activated, it will continue to run in Viewer Mode, which permits loading and viewing of existing VentSim™ DESIGN files. An internet connection is required to initially activate the license. Once activated, an internet connection is no longer required, unless the license is required to be released and moved to another computer.
**Activating your software:**
1\. Install the latest software download from
2\. Run the downloaded install file to install the software on your computer. This can be done for any computer which may be required to use VentSim™ DESIGN in future.
3\. Run the program and select FILE > LICENSE MANAGER to begin the activation process.
4\. Type in the license details provided on your certificate, EXACTLY as shown on the sheet.
5\. Click on ACTIVATE to send a request to the VentSim™ DESIGN license server to activate the software. This may take from a few seconds to a minute or more.
6\. Note if a firewall warning from Windows appears, agree to allow VentSim™ DESIGN to communicate with the server. If no connection is permitted contact your local computer administrator to ensure you have internet access to the [www.ventsim.com](http://www.ventsim.com) website.
7\. To release the license for use on another computer, simply click RELEASE LICENSE, and follow the same procedure on the other computer. The license details are only required to be entered once per computer.
